OWNERS: JAKE & HALEY LOHR
Jake is from Barnardsville, North Carolina. He grew up playing basketball and wrestled in high school. He joined the Army at 19, and spent 22 glorious years serving this great Nation. He found CrossFit when his lovely wife Haley deployed to Afghanistan and fell in love with the “Sport of Fitness”. He started coaching within months of beginning CrossFit, and his love for helping others grew daily. Jake’s special skills include, but are not limited to: making his awesome kids laugh, drinking mass quantities of coffee before most folks are even out of bed, solving Rubik’s Cubes by taking the stickers off and putting them on the correct sides. His interests are: serving God, his amazing Family, rocket science, and CrossFit.

In 2012, I decided to give CrossFit a try after seeing the amazing results my co-workers had. I just had my second child and wasn't happy with my body and was feeling tired all of the time. I was so nervous because I had never really exercised in the past except for the occasional yoga. After my first class I was hooked! Joining Third Coast CrossFit has given me the results that I was looking for and has also improved my overall lifestyle. I eat better, sleep better, and feel better. What I love about CrossFit is the sense of community and that anyone can do it, no matter what size, shape, age, or fitness experience. I look forward to meeting all of you and getting you to your fitness goals!

I am from Granbury, TX and my love for sports and fitness began at a very young age. As a child, I began playing baseball. Later, in high school, I played football, track, and baseball. I went on to play baseball in college. After college, I continued to “exercise” at the traditional “Globo Gyms.” In 2011, a co-worker challenged me to try CrossFit. From that moment on, I engulfed myself with the physical, mental, and nutrition aspects of CrossFit. I saw significant fitness improvements and I felt better on a daily basis. I enjoy thumb wrestling with people with small hands, long walks in the mud, and most importantly, helping other achieve their goals in their CrossFit journey.
I started CrossFit in 2012 at TCCF. At that time in my life I needed to become physically AND mentally strong, and CrossFit did just that. I started feeling so good about what my body and mind could accomplish. I fell in love with what it did for me and the community behind it. I became level one certified in 2014 and started coaching. In my free time I like being outside and hanging out with friends. I LOVE celebrating people when they reach goals, and I try to have new goals for myself inside and outside of the gym.
I’ve been involved in sports and competition since I was five years old. I started out playing baseball, then basketball, soccer, and football. In high school, I was blessed with a really terrific strength and conditioning coach who introduced me to Olympic lifting In college, I continued playing baseball until the wear and tear of the game caused me to hang up my cleats and focus on school. After baseball, I spent the rest of my college years training as an MMA fighter and spending my time in various commercial gyms. However, in 2012, I kept hearing more and more people talking about Crossfit- I found TCCF and the rest is history. What I love about Crossfit the most is that it truly is for everyone. It doesn’t discriminate based on how fit you are, how competitive you are, or how experienced of an athlete you are. Nothing gives us more pleasure as coaches than seeing someone’s face light up after doing their first pull-up or finding out that they not only reached their weight loss goal, but they crushed it. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my dogs, Rolo and Radar, spending as much time as possible outside, and engaging in a lively debate about whether or not pineapple is an appropriate pizza topping. (Fruit has no business being anywhere near a pizza.)

Beth stumbled onto CrossFit in 2011 while traveling around the United States as a contract therapist. As a former competitive gymnast and coach, she fell in love with the idea of functional fitness as a lifestyle. She joined for the workouts, but quickly learned that the community and “CrossFit family” at each box is what makes us unique. She finished her CrossFit L1 in 2014, and has also completed the CrossFit mobility course.
Her favorite part about coaching is working towards improving technique and mobility in order to watch teammates achieve what they once thought was impossible. One of my favorite things about TCCF, though, is the sense of “coming home” every time you walk through the gym door and you’re greeted by new (and old!) members.
Beth is a “RockDoc”- and is certified in Kinesiotaping for Functional Performance and rehab, and is a mobility guru with a background in physical therapy. If she’s not coaching, you may also find her upside down on her aerial silks in the gym.

After earning my music education degree at the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) and enjoying a successful eleven-year run as a junior high band director, I decided to shift gears to allow me to combine my passion for teaching with my passion for fitness. I ran the Houston Marathon in 2011 and 2012 and when I was looking for some variety after training for running events, I found CrossFit and haven't looked back!
When I'm not at the gym, I'm teaching flute lessons and master classes, hanging out with my rescue dogs, or if it's basketball season, I'm probably at Toyota Center cheering on the Houston Rockets. As someone who was not exactly known for her athleticism as a child, my favorite thing is to watch others who have labeled themselves as "non-athletes" accomplish things they never thought possible!

My journey as an athlete began when I was very young and I grew up playing volleyball, basketball and softball. I joined the Army at the age of 17 and became a paratrooper and was mentally and physically challenged daily. I have served on both active duty and the national guard over the past 22 years. I played competitive volleyball in the Army and later found crossfit while serving in Afghanistan in 2016. Needless to say I fell in love with the sport and although I have always exercised and maintained a somewhat decent level of fitness, I quickly found myself to be in the best shape I had ever been in my life. Not certain if I'd be able to maintain the level of fitness I achieved while overseas, I decided to sign up for a Spartan race for immediately upon my return to the States. I found that crossfit provided me with the perfect tools needed to conquer that Spartan race and excel in obstacle course racing (OCRs) in general. Since then, I quickly became an OCR addict and take on any obstacle course race as often as I can. I am so excited about crossfit because I love how it truly is for everyone no matter what your level of fitness is when you walk through the door. I love the awesome community that is here to support you, encourage you and celebrate with you as you take your journey to reaching your fitness goals.
